Donald Trump has the lowest ever six-month approval ratings for a US President, according to a new poll.

The survey released yesterday showed just 36% of Americans thought he was doing a good job.

This was the lowest since polling started 70 years ago, with only Gerald Ford coming close to the number with 39% in February 1975.

His disapproval rating was also at a record high at 58%, according to the ABC News and The Washington Post survey.

Bill Clinton also had a high disapproval rating when he took charge in 1993 but it was still seven points lower than Trump’s after six months.

The report also found Trump’s approval rating had fallen by six points in the last three months.

People seemed to be mostly displeased with the ongoing investigation into possible ties with Russia and his campaign, his handling of healthcare and his performance when talking to world leaders.

The poll showed 67% of people asked believed members of Trump’s team had helped the Kremlin interfere in US elections and another 63% didn’t like the fact Donald Trump Jr had met with a lawyer from Russia.

Other stats from the survey revealed two-thirds of respondents did not think Trump was great at negotiating with other countries and around half felt he wasn’t getting anything done in general.

Healthcare was also a contentious point, with 50% wanting him to keep Obamacare and not make changes.

Needless to say the poll was highly partisan, with 90% of Republicans asked approving of his performance compared to 5% of Democrats.
