There was panic on London Underground this morning after a series of carriages on the Bakerloo Line filled with smoke.
People in carriages could be seen covering their faces as the smoke moved through the Tube train during this morning’s rush hour.
When the train pulled in at Oxford Circus, they were evacuated and smoke quickly started filling the station.
Witnesses described seeing people frozen in fear while many others started rushing to escalators to get to ground level.
Transport for London said that it was responding to a fire alert and there was currently no service on the Bakerloo Line between Elephant & Castle and Paddington stations.
