Manchester United have been given until the weekend to seal the transfer of Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic, as his club insist he won’t be for sale afterwards.

The Croatia international is a key player for Inter, and the Serie A giants would prefer to keep hold of him and suffer a potential Financial Fair Play penalty rather than lose him for below market value.

Inter need to bring in £26m by July 1 (this Saturday), and as such United seem to be unwilling to go over that price for the moment.

However, this could end up costing the Red Devils one of their top summer targets, with Gazzetta dello Sport claiming he will not be allowed to leave after Saturday passes.

United could do with additions in attack this summer, and have also been linked with big names such as Antoine Griezmann and Anderson Talisca.

Still, Perisic looks likely to get away from them as Jose Mourinho once again struggles to get his business done quickly.

The report adds that the 28-year-old has been offered a new contract at the San Siro, which further threatens United’s chances of snapping him up.
