In April 2017, it was revealed that actress Mercy Aigbe's 7-year marriage to Lagos based hotelier, Lanre Gentry crashed on allegations of domestic violence. Lanre was arrested, charged to court and released on bail. Mercy has now traveled to the UK to see a surgeon. Sharing photos from her medical appointment on Instagram, she wrote;

Lady accused of having affair with Mercy Aigbe's hubby demands N500m

Opemititi Ajayi, the lady accused by Mercy Aigbe of sleeping with her husband, Lanre Gentry has demanded N500 million as compensation for damages from the Nollywood star.

According to thenet.ng ,Opemititi via her lawyer, Afolabi Fashanu, has turned around to accuse Mercy of “defamation of character and and cyberbullying’.

What brought about the demand was Mercy’s accusation in an interview that she parted ways with her husband after she learnt he was ‘sleeping with a lady which (sic) is my best friend Opemititi and his PAs…”

Mercy Aigbe and husband's court case adjourned till may 24

Mercy Aigbe's husband, Larry Gentry who got out of jail last night was to know his fate today as regards the restraining order filed by his wife.

The Magistrate court sitting in Lagos this morning however adjourned the case till next week Wednesday, May 24, 2017. LIB was present at the Samuel Ilori court house, Ogba today and neither Mercy nor her husband showed up in court.

Mercy has so far declined to speak with journalist on the case but in a phone call with Larry Gentry a few minutes ago, he told LIB that, 

'did I invite you to court today? So I don't know what you are talking about. Mercy is a celebrity and I am a business man, I have not told anyone I divorced my wife. Mercy is my wife and will still remain my wife' he said before he hung up.

Mercy Aigbe's estranged husband, Lanre Gentry fulfills his bail conditions, released from Prison

On May 9, Mercy Aigbe's estranged husband, Lanre Gentry was arraigned before an Ogba Magistrate court on a three count charge offence bordering on breach of public peace, assault and causing grievous bodily harm on his wife. He entered a not guilty plea and the presiding magistrate, Mrs O. Aje-Afunwa granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in the like sum.

Both sureties were to show proof of tax payment and own a verifiable house in Lagos with title documents.

Gentry was earlier remanded in Ikoyi Prison as he couldn't meet up with his bail conditions. He has now been released.

This he confirmed in a post on Instagram (even after denying ever being in charge of any social media account) and has promised to grant an interview to reveal his experience in Prison.
